Poconos Builder Awards 2009
This beautiful all glass ‘sunroom’ makes the perfect addition to a fully renovated 1829 Stone Farm House creating both an elegant “English Style Conservatory” and a bright room perfect for tying flies.
The homeowners, in designing this large glass addition housing an ‘English Style Conservatory and Fishing Room,’ wanted to add a comfortable living space to a rustic fishing cottage that would allow them to enjoy spectacular views of nature. It does just that.
The exterior real stone veneer was specifically chosen and painstakingly installed to match the existing stone house. An elaborate HVAC system with buried duct work, radiant floor heating and state of the art equipment were installed to keep the space comfortable year-round. The stone floors and plaster walls helped to tie this new space back to the historic stone cottage. The aluminum and glass structure itself, with 20 foot high ceilings and 8 foot doors, was married seamlessly to the exterior stone of the cottage creating a beautifully rustic element in both spaces.
Both the conservatory and rod room open to the outside creating separate access for the fishing room, and those muddy boots, as well as direct entry to the conservatory from the brick patio or side yard.
