Remodeling Residential Kitchen Between $30,000 & $50,000
This project transformed the well-worn and outdated kitchen of this quaint cottage into the new ‘heart’ of the home and dream kitchen for the owner.
The owner’s desire was to take a very tired and outdated kitchen and make it the new heart & soul of there long time family home. They wanted a more open and inviting space for gourmet cooking and entertaining without adding on to the structure. The major challenge was efficient use of limited space. The owner wanted a well-functioning gourmet style kitchen with a wet bar, desk area, island, dining area and fireplace all in 378sqft. This was accomplished by gutting the space, raising the ceiling, incorporating a new structural post into the kitchen design and opening the kitchen to the stairway and living room. Adding new larger windows and glass entry door made the space brighter and helped to give a more open feel.
The completed kitchen features: customized stock cabinetry in both painted and stained maple finish, granite countertops hand selected to coordinate with the cabinets and stone fireplace surround, wide plank hardwood floors, LED lighting, stainless steel appliances and custom trim to match the existing home.
The project also included the use of closed cell urethane spray foam insulation, a new electrical service, new kitchen plumbing and HVAC and a gas fireplace with stone veneer.
