A New Home
Browns Lake Timber Frame
After purchasing a lake in Canadensis the homeowner’s vision was to build a cabin retreat as close to the water as possible and designed for relaxing and entertaining family and friends in all seasons. This full structural timber frame home with SIP (structural insulated panel) roof system was designed to maximize the lake view with ten-foot high windows and doors and its proximity to the lake by incorporating the boathouse and patio together for easy access. Upon entering the home you are greeted by a beautifully-rich and warm Douglas Fir Timber frame great room and kitchen with wide plank pine ceiling flooded with natural light. The open-plan gourmet kitchen has natural cherry cabinets and boasts a 10-foot granite-topped island and window bar. The wood burning stove with natural stone chimney and locally-cut mantle make a cozy center piece.
The home has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, walk in pantry and a large game room. Special features and details are found everywhere. There are simple 3-panel clear fir doors and trim, custom tile showers and stone tile floors, oak and iron railings and a rear deck and patio with composite and stainless steel cable rails. The home’s specialized lighting includes hidden LED up lighting to accent the timbers and vaulted ceiling. The exterior of the home is completely maintenance-free with standing seam metal roofing, real stone veneer and cement composite siding and trim.
The home was also built to be high-tech and energy-efficient with closed cell urethane foam insulation, a high efficiency dual fuel HVAC system, on demand hot water, a whole house generator back up, complete central security and video system and fully-dimmable LED lighting.
