Whole Residential House Renovation for Construction Less than $150,000

This modest well-built 50yr old tri-level home needed some major upgrades and a face lift to meet the 21st century needs of its busy professional family.

The owners loved their neighborhood and location, but their 50yr old house was no longer meeting their needs, so instead of moving they decided to renovate and make it the home they always wanted. The “heart” of the home and this project was a new large gourmet kitchen open to the main living area and perfect for entertaining. The kitchen was designed for practical elegance with painted shaker style cabinets, granite countertops, oversized stainless steel sink, stainless steel appliances and tile back splash. The kitchen lighting was also of particular importance using LED accent lights and under cabinet lighting. A bar seating area was added to watch the chef at work. Second to the kitchen, the owners’ greatest need was a master suite. A small addition over the garage accommodated a new bathroom with custom door-less shower and walk-in closet off the master bedroom.

Although in very good condition for its age the house needed some upgrades. Included in the project were all new Andersen windows, upgraded electrical service and panel, new AC system and a lifetime shingle roof. The exterior of the house also got a facelift with a newly designed front porch, Hardi board and batten siding, new fascia, soffit and window trim. The interior renovations also included re-finishing the hardwood floors, new interior trim and painting throughout.
