Reish Rd Renovation

This 1950’s stone home looked great sitting up on the hill, but the inside required a major update and even a ‘ceiling lift’ to meet the needs of its new owners and their active adult family.

The new owners of this classic 1950’s all stone ranch loved the location on a hill, the size (over 2000 sqft) and even the general layout of the home, but the interior was chopped up, very dated and worn. It was time to open it up, modernize and literally raise the ceiling. The discovery of higher joists under the original dropped plaster ceiling was a bonus, enabling the creation of new 10’ high ceilings.

The ‘heart’ of the home and this project was a new large gourmet kitchen open to the dining & living areas and perfect for entertaining. The kitchen itself was designed for practical elegance with painted shaker style cabinets, granite counter tops, a massive center island, stainless appliances and detailed lighting. The adjacent living room’s fireplace was stripped of its dated paneled built-ins and opened up to create niches and a new craftsman style surround. The original large multi pane bow window was repaired and painted.

The bathrooms were also in great need of help. These were gutted out and rebuilt with new cabinetry, custom tile and marble showers and tile floors. A much-needed laundry and mudroom was added by converting the old screened porch for the purpose, but in keeping the exposed exterior stone, window opening and fir porch ceiling it became a beautiful entry space.

Also included in the renovation was the replacement of exterior doors and windows, all new lighting, new master closets and pantry, new and re-finished hardwood floors throughout and custom painting of the interior.
