Poconos Builder Awards 2009 – Kitchen Remodel over $15,000
An elegant new kitchen adds value as well as efficiency and comfort to daily living and entertaining.
The owners of a historic home in the Hill Section of Stroudsburg had dreamed for years of updating their cramped and dated kitchen. Dreams became reality when we were asked to create a spacious new kitchen for them in the spring of 2008.
The transformation was dramatic. Lots of care was given to the planning and style of their new space. The new kitchen had to match the era of the historic home. Some of the finishes between the hardwood flooring and the nine-foot ceilings include: lots of custom, two-tone painted cabinetry for storage of cooking essentials, state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and oil-rubbed bronze hardware. Careful attention was given to lighting; with recessed lights as well as under cabinet lights and three pendants hung over the spacious center island. Some additional features include a lovely tiled backsplash, crown moldings throughout and a central audio system. The new kitchen also incorporates a soft-seating area for reading, watching TV or doing homework while mom prepares dinner.
